Whispering Hope

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

[2] By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

As born again believers, we have a blessed hope.

Romans 8:28 tells us that all things are going to work together for good as we trust the Lord for our needs.

We know that nothing is going to separate us from the love of God, Rom. 8:39.

We know that Jesus is coming one day to take us to Heaven and we will forever live with Him, 1 Thes. 4:16,17.

We have many reasons to rejoice in hope.

Whispering Hope

____________________________

Soft as the voice of an angel, — Breathing a lesson unheard, —   Hope with a gentle persuasion    —    Whispers her comforting word:    —    Wait till the darkness is over,    —    Wait till the tempest is done, —  Hope for the sunshine tomorrow, — After the shower is gone.

CHORUS:

Whispering hope, oh, how welcome thy voice,    —    Making my heart in its sorrow rejoice.

If, in the dusk of the twilight, — Dim be the region afar, — Will not the deepening darkness Brighten the glimmering star? —  Then when the night is upon us,    —    Why should the heart sink away?    —    When the dark midnight is over,    —    Watch for the breaking of day.

Hope, as an anchor so steadfast,    —    Rends the dark veil for the soul, —  Whither the Master has entered,    —    Robbing the grave of its goal; — Come then, oh, come, glad fruition, — Come to my sad, weary heart;   —   Come, O Thou blest hope of glory,    —    Never, oh, never depart.

Septimus Winner  1868

At Calvary

Luke 23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Jesus died on the cross at Calvary so that we might be able to look to Him by faith and be eternally saved by His grace, Isa. 45:22.

At Calvary

_____________________

Years I spent in vanity and pride,   —    Caring not my Lord was crucified,   —    Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary.

CHORUS:

Mercy there was great, and grace was free;   —    Pardon there was multiplied to me;   —    There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary.

By God’s Word at last my sin I learned;   —    Then I trembled at the law I’d spurned,   —    Till my guilty soul imploring turned to Calvary.

Now I’ve giv’n to Jesus everything,   —    Now I gladly own Him as my King,   —    Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary!

Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan!   —    Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!   —    Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!

The Lily of The Valley

Song of Songs 2:1  I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Jesus, the One of truth, honesty, purity, love, and our burden bearer are but a few descriptions of our Lord.

No wonder we call Him The Lily of The Valley.

I’ve found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me,   —    He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;  —  The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see  —  All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole. — In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay; —  He tells me every care on Him to roll.

CHORUS:

He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star, —  He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne;    —    In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tow’r;    —    I’ve all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn    —    From my heart and now He keeps me by His pow’r.    —    Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,    —    Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal. - - -

He’ll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,  —  While I live by faith and do His blessed will;    —    A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,    —    From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.    —    Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,    —    Where rivers of delight shall ever roll. - - -

There Is Power in The Blood

Romans 5:8-9 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

[9] Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Only the blood of Jesus Christ can justify us {make us good enough to go to Heaven) when we believe.

It took a lot of love and power to forgive our sins.

There Is Power in The Blood

Would you be free from the burden of sin?    —   There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;    —   Would you o’er evil a victory win?    —   There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood.

CHORUS:

There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r    —   In the blood of the Lamb; — There is pow’r, pow’r, wonder-working pow’r — In the precious blood of the Lamb.

Would you be free from your passion and pride?    —   There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;    —   Come for a cleansing to Calvary’s tide;    —   There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood. - - -

Would you be whiter, much whiter than snow?    —   There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;    —   Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow;    —   There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood. - - -

Would you do service for Jesus your King?    —   There’s pow’r in the blood, pow’r in the blood;    —   Would you live daily His praises to sing?    —   There’s wonderful pow’r in the blood. - - -

Footsteps of Jesus

Luke 5:11 And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

If you would like to see all of your tomorrows altered and your life filled with the best that God can give, then the secret lies in total surrender of everything in your life to His will.

Footsteps of Jesus

Sweetly, Lord, have we heard Thee calling,    —    “Come, follow Me!”    —    And we see where Thy footprints falling  —  Lead us to Thee.

CHORUS:

Footprints of Jesus that make the pathway glow;    —    We will follow the steps of Jesus where’er they go.

Though they lead o’er the cold, dark mountains,    —    Seeking His sheep;    —    Or along by Siloam’s fountains,    —    Helping the weak. - - -

If they lead through the temple holy preaching the Word;   —

Or in homes of the poor and lowly,    —    Serving the Lord.

Then, at last, when on high He sees us, our journey done, — We will rest where the steps of Jesus    —    End at His throne.

When We All Get To Heaven

1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

[18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

What a joy it will be to see our loved ones and friends who are waiting for us in Heaven.

What a profound experience it will be to see Jesus Christ.

Thank God for the hope we have in Him.

When We All Get To Heaven

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,    —    Sing His mercy and His grace;    —    In the mansions bright and blessed    —    He’ll prepare for us a place.

CHORUS:

When we all get to heaven,    —    What a day of rejoicing that will be!    —    When we all see Jesus,    —    We’ll sing and shout the victory!

While we walk the pilgrim pathway,    —    Clouds will overspread the sky;    —    But when trav’ling days are over,    —    Not a shadow, not a sigh. - - -

Let us then be true and faithful, — Trusting, serving every day;    —    Just one glimpse of Him in glory    —    Will the toils of life repay. - - -

Onward to the prize before us!    —    Soon His beauty we’ll behold;    —    Soon the pearly gates will open;    —    We shall tread the streets of gold.

No, Not One

John 15:13-14 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

[14] Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

The love of Jesus for His people moves Him to lead us into the green pasture and beside the still waters of His Father's will for our lives.

There has never been a greater, nobler or more costly display of love than that selfless moment when Jesus died for us on the cross.

No, Not One!

__________________________

There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus,  —  No, not one! No, not one!  —  None else could heal all our soul’s diseases,  —  No, not one! No, not one!

CHORUS:

Jesus knows all about our struggles,  —  He will guide till the day is done;  —  There’s not a friend like the lowly Jesus,  —  No, not one! No, not one!

No friend like Him is so high and holy,  —  No, not one! No, not one!  —  And yet no friend is so meek and lowly,  —  No, not one! No, not one! - - -

There’s not an hour that He is not near us,  —  No, not one! No, not one!—No night so dark but His love can cheer us,— No, not one! No, not one! - - -

Did ever saint find this Friend forsake him?  —  No, not one! No, not one!  —  Or sinner find that He would not take him? — No, not one! No, not one! - - -

Was e’er a gift like the Savior given?  —  No, not one! No, not one!  —  Will He refuse us a home in heaven?  —  No, not one! No, not one!
