If You Know The Lord

By the way, those who are open to all that God has for them are more likely to see Him move in glory and power than those who tend to stay farther away.

I want to be as close to God as John was at the Last Supper when he lay his head on Jesus’ breast.  No doubt he felt the breath of God on his head.

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

John was close enough to talk to Jesus and close enough to hear Jesus speak to Him. John 13:23-26.

If you really know the Lord, there will be some mountain top times with Him.

There will be times when His presence is real and His glory is clear.

When you are in one of those times, enjoy it for all it’s worth, because you will soon be back in the valley.

Mountain top experiences will sustain you through many long and difficult valleys.

Depend On God

Try to put yourself in Joseph’s shoes. You are seventeen years old, favorite son in a family of twelve sons. Your father has chosen you to be the head of the family and given you a beautiful robe to symbolize this fact.

Suddenly you are stripped of your coat and betrayed by people who should have loved you. Separated from your father, you are sold as a slave and carried to a strange land. Imagine the humility of being examined and sold in a slave auction.

Genesis 39:2 And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

God is always with His people, to see them through their trials; to accomplish His plans in their lives. Joseph prospered because God blessed him.

The trials Joseph faced and the trials you and I face are never easy, but they do teach us to depend on God.

You Are Precious To God

Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
You and I may not understand the leadership of the Lord in our lives, but I can assure you, if you are His, He is guiding your steps every day.

Psalm 37:23,24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

It may seem like life is out of control and it is, but it is never out of the Lord’s control.

In the end, you will be exactly where you are supposed to be.

Why should Almighty God trouble Himself with you?  Because you are precious to Him.

A Stable Mind

Philippians 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

If we will fill our minds with the Words of God, there will be no room for evil, no room for worry, no room for fear, no room for vengeance, no room for confusion and trouble.

A mind filled with and led by the Word of God is a stable mind.

This is a very critical matter, because how you think determines how you will live your life, Pro. 4:23

We are to see that our minds are in love with Jesus.

Matthew 22:37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Until the mind is settled, all of life is out of control.

I Shall Not Want

Psalm 23:1-2 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

I’m sure I know the Lord like David did when he penned the 23rd Psalm. “I shall not want” tells us the great Shepherd abundantly provides all my needs.

The good Lord knows I have to eat so He provides the best food for me.  He knows you do too.

He leads us into the green pastures of His Word, allows us to graze on the riches therein, and shelters us while we rest in the riches of His grace.

What a tender Shepherd! He tenderly meets our needs

Do you take advantage of that privilege and provision?

Perfect Peace

As Jesus speaks to His troubled Disciples, He reminds them that even though He is leaving, He is still the Prince of Peace.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

The saints of God possess a peace that defies all description. According to Jesus, this peace is Heavenly in origin, so it can’t be affected by the events of earth.

In times of trouble we can lean on that peace. We can trust Jesus to take care of His own.

When we don’t understand what’s going to happen — when it seems that everything is falling apart — when we don't know which way to turn; we can count on Jesus.

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee : because he trusteth in thee.

A Good Mother

Most men and children have no idea of the work a woman does.

Proverbs 31:15,18 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. . . . . She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

She takes care of the necessary details of the home.

She rises early, and she works late.

She tends to the needs of her children, her husband and the others in her household.

She is there when they are hungry, when they are sick, when they are broken and when they need someone who cares.

She gives her live for those she loves.
