Only One Risen Savior

Religious systems in the world are bothered by the empty tomb or should be. But there is only one risen Savior and His name is Jesus. There is only One Way to Heaven and His name is Jesus.

Matthew 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord Lay.

The grave clothes of Jesus preached a powerful message early that Sunday morning. They told a vivid story of a risen Savior. They told the world that everything Jesus had preached, and every promise He made was true.

The Resurrection of Christ is a message of hope and life and victory. Jesus is still alive and those in the bondage of fear and sin still need to hear about it.

Because He lives, those who place their faith in Him will live forever also. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow.

And They Crucified Him

Matthew 27:35  And they crucified Him . . .

This is a simple statement, yet the horror Jesus endured on the cross was not simple.

Christ had been awake all night, endured at least four trials, was beaten by the religious Jews and Roman soldiers. He was mocked, ridiculed, spit upon, and then had to carry His own cross. The crucifixion is more horrible than anything we can imagine.

Isaiah 53:7  He was oppressed and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.

Somehow, all of our sins were transferred to Him as he hung on that cross.

"It is finished!" He cried. When He took His last breath redemption was secured for all those who believe on Him.

There's no stars in the sky, and the sparrow can't fly.

Come And See

If we examine the claims of the resurrection --  and they have been examined by the greatest of minds for 2,000 years --  there is no other explanation but that Jesus rose from the dead in victory, glory and power!

Matthew 28:6 He is not here: for he is risen as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

The Lord's body, which had been previously placed inside the tomb by Joseph and Nicodemus, no longer lies where they placed it.

The body of Jesus couldn't have been stolen away because Roman guards sealed the tomb. The empty tomb is a powerful argument.

No search was ever made for His body, though officials would claim it had been stolen. No arrests were made.

Once we've experienced the glory of the resurrection --  once we've come and once we've seen . . . . we are commanded to go and tell.

Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Praise The Lord

Your praise to the Lord says a lot about how much you value Him.

Psalm 106:1 Praise ye the Lord, O give thanks unto the Lord: for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

We need the mercy of God because we aren't perfect. Praise God for mercy! We praise Him because He's good all the time.

God is good in the light and dark  -- on the mountain and in the valley  --  in peace and in turmoil  --  in life and death  --  rejoicing and weeping  --  good health and sickness. God is good to the saved and the lost. Those who are His have special reasons for praising His name.

If we fail to praise God, we are closing our eyes to the signs of His presence, forgetting His mercies and kindness.

Cultivate the spirit and habit of praise. Give God the honor and glory and gratitude we owe Him. God is good.

End Time Prophecy

Jesus gave his disciples several end time signs to look for: The end of the Church Age and the beginning of the Tribulation Period. These signs are more frequent and with greater intensity today than in the past.

Matthew 24:6,7  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars; see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes in divers places.

Lately, I've been studying articles written by godly preachers who study end time prophecy. I believe the "Redeemed" will be caught up (raptured) to meet Jesus in the air before the tribulation.

I'm not an expert on Bible prophecy, but I've learned enough to know that end time predictions are being fulfilled in this troubled world every day.

Jesus said that believers shouldn't be troubled about this. Hold on to that and pray for unbelievers as never before.

I'll Meet You In The Morning

Because Jesus died and rose from the grave, believers need not fear death or the judgment of God. God the Father has accepted Jesus as their ransom, and in Him we are delivered from sin, wrath, death and judgment.

1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

When Jesus comes in the clouds for His redeemed, graves of the redeemed will burst open and bodies will rise and join their souls with Jesus in the air. God knows where all the bodies are.

The phrase ."....will God bring with Him" makes it clear that believers who have died in the past continue to exist with God in Heaven.

Death for the saint is merely the departure of the soul from the body. The soul goes to Heaven. So, when we go to a funeral and follow their body to the grave, we aren't saying, "Goodbye". If we are believers, we are saying, "I'll meet you in the morning."

What Matters Most

One of the problems in the church at Corinth was that they displayed many spiritual gifts, but they didn't love each other as they should.

John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to another.

What matters most is not whether you possess some flashy gift, and it's not how smart, wealthy or popular you are.

What matters most is how well you love. When you learn to love like Jesus loves, you have discovered what matters most.

1 Corinthians 13 describes love. It suffers long -- is knd -- doesn't boast -- isn't puffed up -- doesn't behave itself unseemly -- seeks not her own -- isn't easily provoked -- thinks no evil -- rejoices not in iniquity but in truth -- bears, believes, hopes, and endures all things.

Love never fails.
