What A Lovely Name

Luke 1:30-31 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

When we say or sing or breath or whisper the name of Jesus; we proclaim the greatest name that has ever fallen upon the ears of humanity.

We proclaim the name of the Savior of the lost --- the Shepherd of the sheep --- the Redeemer of the soul--- the blessed Bridegroom of the Bride--- the Lover of men’s souls--- the Glory of Heaven--- the One Who calls Himself our Friend--- the True and Living One!

That’s Him,  but He’s so much more! In the precious name of Jesus there is hope, peace, love, salvation, blessing, healing, wonder, joy, glory, and majesty.

Heaven's Gift

Galatians 4:4-5  But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

The ministry of Heaven's gift accomplished two great things for believers.

1. It delivered us from the authority of a Law we could never keep (James 2:10; Rom. 6:14).

2. It reconciled us to and placed us in the family of God ( Eph. 2:12-22). That’s something religion and human effort could never achieve. This powerful ministry of Christ is available only by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8-9).

Have you accepted Heaven's Gift?

The True Meaning Of Christmas

Luke 2:10-11 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

The fact that Jesus  stepped out of eternity into time is almost mind-boggling. The true meaning of Christmas will always be about the Baby Jesus, born to die for sinners, to arise from His grave and give everlasting life to those who  believe.

As Savior, He is worthy of our worship. As Christ, He is worthy of our dependence. As Lord, He is worthy of our obedience. As Jesus, He is worthy of all we can give  Him.

Chosen To Serve

As Joseph ponders what to do about Mary, God sends an angel. “But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:20-21)

How do you raise the Messiah?  His is a privilege that is unique to all of humanity. In spite of the ridicule and  humiliation, Joseph was willing to make God’s will a priority in his life.

Sometimes, the Lord's assignments are costly. To be chosen by God to do anything is a privilege. Determine in your heart to seek the Lord's will.

The Deity And Humanity Of Jesus

One of the most amazing claims in the Bible says, “But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law.” (Galatians 4:4). Did you notice there’s no mention of a man. The Bible claims that Jesus Christ is the product of a virgin birth.

Now, a lot of people have problems with that.  That’s not how babies get here.

Isaiah prophesied this many years earlier. “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14).

This child was more than just an ordinary baby. This baby, this child, this man was and is God in human flesh.

Deity and humanity existed together in the Person of Jesus Christ without either nature mixing with or hindering the other. I call that amazing and that's the result of the virgin birth.

Jesus Is The Reason - - -

Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.

When God sent His Son into this world (John 3:16) He sent One who was eternally, equally, and essentially God. John 10:30  I and my Father are one.

Again and again Jesus proved who He was.  From “Peace be still” to “Rise up and walk” to “Lazarus come forth” to “Thy sins be forgiven thee” to “It is finished”---- the truth and power of the Deity of Christ was on constant display.  Every word, every deed, and every miracle declared Him to be God the Son.  He alone is the Person of Christmas! Jesus is the reason for the season.

When God Became Man

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: . . . . . John 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  .  .  .  . [14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth).

Through the virgin birth incarnation, God Almighty became human, a helpless infant. He knew pain, sorrow, loss, grief, hunger, thirst, weariness, and suffering

Without God being a man, the death and resurrection of Christ means nothing. With it, His sacrifice means everything. It means the innocent died for the guilty, and that sinners can be saved if they will come to Jesus by faith.
