Chiseled Into His Image

When God allows a time of sorrow, suffering or pain in the lives of His children, it's always for our good and His glory. My cancer experience drew me closer to God, increased my faith.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Working things together for good is God blending our lives with grace, adding a heaping portion of love, and transforming it into a thing of beauty and blessing.

Claim this "all things for good" promise when you don't understand your trial.

One day, as you count what you've endured and enjoyed  in the Lord, you'll see how He chiseled you into His own image.

The Holy Spirit In You

1 John 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: . . . (a born again Christian).

Believing in Jesus is more than head knowledge, it's acknowledging Christ and His shed blood as your only hope of forgiveness and salvation. It's asking Him into your heart and life, to be your personal Savior.

The Holy Spirit moves into your heart the instant you believe in Jesus.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (saved from Hell).

The Spirit of God speaks to your heart, guides you, warns you, leads you, and comforts you.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

The Spirit of God gives you a desire to hear and understand and act on the Word of God.

A Matter Of The Heart

Your heart is a window into your soul. It serves as a barometer of your spiritual condition. The heart of an unbeliever may have an external religion, void of the Spirit of God. The religion of the Saint of God  has a heart fueled by internal redemption.

External religion is a man-made system of rituals, ceremony, law and works.

Internal redemption is a work of God in the heart and life of believers, ever bring us to maturity in Christ Jesus.

Ezekiel 36:26  A new heart also will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

27. And I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments and do them.

Walking In The Fire

Refusing to worship the golden image in a foreign country, the three Hebrew guys  knew King Nebuchadnezzar would throw them in the fiery furnace.

Daniel 3:17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

18. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

As he watched, the shocked king wanted to know who the fourth man was, walking with them in the flames.

It was Jesus, and nobody got burned, not even a hair singed. He was delivering His children just like he will deliver you if you're in the fire, up a creek, at the end of your rope or worried.

Jesus is walking in your fire.

The Battle--The Armour--The Victory

Believers need to understand the raging battle---a spiritual battle between good and evil for the control of our lives. You don't have to lose the battle. You don't have to be defeated in your walk with the Lord.

Ephesians 6:11-12 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

The Apostle Paul presents the "Victory" Armour.

  1. Loins girt about with truth
  2. Breastplate of Righteousness
  3. Feet shod with preparation of the gospel of peace
  4. Shield of faith (to quence the fiery darts of the wicked
  5. Helmet of salvation
  6. Sword of the Spirit (Bible)
  7. Prayer and supplication in the Spirit.
This battle is real. Put on your armour and win, win, win.

Fear Not, Little Flock

Jesus sees the saints of God as sheep--His sheep, and He is their Shepherd. He takes care of them. They know his voice and follow His call.

Luke 12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

I love the "fear nots" in the Bible, and I love my Lord calling me and my Christian family "little flock". It's so intimate and caring.

Our fears are opportunities for the Father to demonstrate His tender love and grace.

Child of God, you are precious in the eyes of God. He knows what you're going through. He has your back. Fear not.

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
He leadeth me beside the still waters
He restoreth my soul. . . . .
Psalm 23

That I May Know Him

Moses had a heart desire to know and experience God in a deeper way.

Exodus 33:13 Now Therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way that I may know thee, that I may find grace in Thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.

God answered Moses' prayer as He passed by, declaring His name and revealing His glory. Moses was never the same.

When we see the Lord as He is, we can't help but see ourselves as we are. We know we are nothing and God is everything.

Do you want to know God in a deeper way?

Romans 12:1  I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service.

2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
