To God Be The Glory

I’m so thankful that God answers prayers. I asked people to pray for me and I didn’t get nauseated. The medicine doesn’t always work for everyone in chemotherapy, but it did for me. Praise God.

Psalm 108:1  O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.

How do I thank the Lord?

Andrae Crouch wrote  some of my favorite gospel songs including “The Blood Will Never Lose It’s Power” and “Through It All”.

But his wonderful song “My Tribute” best describes my thankful feelings to God.

“How can I say thanks for the things You have done for me? — Things so undeserved yet You gave to prove Your love for me; — The voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude. — All that I am and ever hope to be — I owe it all to Thee.

“To God be the glory — To God be the glory — To God be the glory — For the things He has done.  — With His blood He has saved me, — With His power He has raised me; — To God be the glory for the things He has done

Till The Storm Passes By

The very thing the disciples feared —  the raging sea —  was the very thing God used to come to them.

Matthew 14:24,26-27 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

[26] And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

[27] But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

The disciples didn’t recognize Jesus. They thought He was a ghost. They cried out in fear.
But, thank God, Jesus came with a message of peace and of power, telling them that the storm was fierce, but He is greater than the storm.

When Jesus comes walking on our storm — He gives us the same message of hope.

“In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face — While the storm howls above me, and there's no hiding place — 'Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry — Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

“Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more — Till the clouds roll forever from the sky. — Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand — Keep me safe till the storm passes by.”   By Mosie Lister

Victory In Jesus

From time to time we deal with obstacles that would hinder us from obtaining spiritual victory in our lives.

We may feel that we will never have victory or enjoy the abundant life that Jesus promised His followers.

I don’t know what kind of obstacles you face, but I do know a God Who specializes in overcoming the overwhelming.

Cheer up. The Lord is leading His children to victory. Believe it.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

“I heard about His healing — Of His cleansing pow'r revealing. — How He made the lame to walk again — And caused the blind to see. — And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, and heal my broken spirit," — And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory.

“O victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever. — He sought me and bought me — With His redeeming blood. — He loved me ere I knew Him — And all my love is due Him. — He plunged me to victory — Beneath the cleansing flood.”

Only Jesus

Only Jesus can move your mountain and meet your need.

Only Jesus can touch your loved ones, whatever the need.

Only Jesus can forgive your sins and save your soul.

Only Jesus can satisfy your soul.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

“Only Jesus can satisfy your soul — And only He can change your heart
And make you whole; — He'll give you peace you never knew
Sweet love and joy and Heaven too, — For only Jesus can satisfy your soul.”

Our Great God

If all the greats of humanity were paraded across the stage of time, none of them could hold a candle to our great God.

Psalm 113:4  The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

It may surprise some to think about God being a caring God. He is often portrayed as a God of wrath and judgment. That is one side of His character.

Our Lord is also a God of love, compassion and intimacy. He is a God Who cares.

One reason He cares is because He knows what we face in life. He knows this because He came to this world and lived among us for a time, eventually dying on a cross to save sinners.

John 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . . .  [14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

“Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee — How great Thou art — how great Thou art.” — Stuart K. Hine
