He Lives

Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

The difference between the Christian Faith and all other faiths is that our Savior died for our sins, was resurrected three days later and lives forever.

Jesus is our King of Kings and Lord of Lords; but He is also our Friend.

He has accomplish things our minds can’t comprehend; but He still has time to be touched by our needs, Heb. 4:15.

We will live again because He has risen.

He Lives

I serve a risen Saviour; He's in the world today.   —    I know that He is living, whatever men may say.   —    I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,   —    And just the time I need Him He's always near.

CHORUS:

He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus lives today!   —    He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.   —    He lives! He lives! Salvation to impart!   —    You ask me how I know He lives? He lives within my heart.

In all the world around me I see His loving care,   —    And though my heart grows weary I never will despair.   —    I know that He is leading, thro' all the stormy blast;   —    The day of His appearing will come at last.

Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian! Lift up your voice and sing   —    Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ, the King!   —    The Hope of all who seek Him, the Help of all who find,   —    None other is so loving, so good and kind.

No Not One

Isaiah 41:10  Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Whatever we may face, I’m thankful that we can count on God and His promises.

For instance, today I wanted to vote early but felt uneasy about standing in long lines. It’s physically hard for me, so I prayed about it.

Not finding parking where we usually vote, we went to another place where parking was right by the door and voting close inside with no line. It was perfect.

There’s no one like Jesus. He answers prayer for me every day. He’s the best friend I ever had.

No Not One

There's not a friend like the lowly Jesus;   —   No, not one! No, not one!   —   None else could heal all our souls diseases;   —   No, not one! No, not one!

CHORUS::

Jesus knows all about our struggles.   —   He will guide till the day is done.   —   There's not a friend like the lowly Jesus;   —   No, not one! No, not one!

No friend like Him is so high and holy;  —  No, not one! No, not one! —  And yet no friend is so meek and lowly; —  No, not one! No, not one!

There's not an hour that He is not near us;   —   No, not one! No, not one!   —   No night so dark but His love can cheer us;   —   No, not one!  No, not one!

Victory In Jesus

It’s easy for me to tell you to have faith in Jesus for victory in trials or worries or whatever bothers you.

It seems the more I tell you, the more the good Lord tests my faith with small and even large things that concern me.

Actually, that’s a blessing because I learn to give it to Jesus, usually after a struggle.

Why am I so amazed when victory comes?

Another song says, “Through it all I learned to trust in Jesus” (Andrae Crouch).

1 Corinthians 15:57  But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I heard an old, old story,  — How a Savior came from glory, — How He gave His life on Calvary  — To save a wretch like me; — I heard about His groaning, — Of His precious blood's atoning, —   Then I repented of my sins    —  And won the victory.

CHORUS:

O victory in Jesus,    —   My Savior, forever.    —   He sought me and bought me    —   With His redeeming blood;    —   He loved me ere I knew Him    —   And all my love is due Him,    —   He plunged me to victory,    —   Beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing,    —   Of His cleansing pow'r revealing.    —   How He made the lame to walk again    —   And caused the blind to see;    —   And then I cried, "Dear Jesus,    —   Come and heal my broken spirit,"    —   And somehow Jesus came and bro't  to me the victory.

I heard about a mansion  — He has built for me in glory.  —  And I heard about the streets of gold — Beyond the crystal sea; — About the angels singing, — And the old redemption story, — And some sweet day I'll sing up there    —   The song of victory.

We’ll Understand It Better By And By

John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

[2] In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

[3] And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Praise God, the burdens of life are temporary at best, 1 Pet. 1:6

We are just “pilgrims and strangers” passing through enemy territory.

It will be far better when we get home. The best is yet to come, Phil. 1:21-23

We’ll Understand It Better By And By

Trials dark on every hand, —  And we cannot understand — All the ways that God would lead us   —  To that blessed promised land.   —  But He'll guide us with His eye,   —  And we'll follow till we die.   —  We will understand it better by and by.

CHORUS:

By and by when the morning comes;   —  When the saints of God are gathered home,   —  We will tell the story how we’ve overcome;   —  We will understand it better by and by.

Temptations hidden snares  —  often take us unaware, — And our hearts are made to bleed  — By some thoughtless word or deed.   —  And we wonder why the test   —    When we try to do our best.   —  We will understand it better by and by.

Have Faith In God

When the disciples are amazed at the withered fig tree, Jesus simply says, “Have faith in God.”

Mark 11:22  And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

A deep-settled, consistent, ongoing confidence in who God is; what God has said; and what God will do is a faith builder in God’s people.

Have faith in God and see His power boggle your mind when prayers for the uncertain and impossible are answered.

Have Faith In God

Have faith in God when your pathway is lonely,    —   He sees and knows all the way you have trod;    —  Never alone are the least of His children;    —   Have faith in God, have faith in God.

CHORUS:

Have faith in God, He’s on His throne;    —   Have faith in God, He watches o’er His own; — He cannot fail, He must prevail;  —   Have faith in God, have faith in God.

Have faith in God when your prayers are unanswered,    —   Your earnest plea He will never forget;    —   Wait on the Lord, trust His Word and be patient,    —   Have faith in God, He’ll answer yet.

Have faith in God in your pain and your sorrow,    —   His heart is touched with your grief and despair;    —   Cast all your cares and your burdens upon Him,    —   And leave them there, oh, leave them there.

Have faith in God though all else fail about you;    —   Have faith in God, He provides for His own;    —   He cannot fail though all kingdoms shall perish,    —   He rules, He reigns upon His throne.

Jesus Is All The World To Me

Philippians 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

Colossians 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Jesus Is All The World To Me

Jesus is all the world to me,    —    My life, my joy, my all;  —  He is my strength from day to day,    —    Without Him I would fall.    —    When I am sad, to Him I go,    —    No other one can cheer me so;    —    When I am sad, He makes me glad,    —    He’s my Friend.

Jesus is all the world to me,  —  My Friend in trials sore;  —  I go to Him for blessings, and  —  He gives them o’er and o’er.  —  He sends the sunshine and the rain,    —    He sends the harvest’s golden grain;    —    Sunshine and rain, harvest of grain,  —  He’s my Friend.

Jesus is all the world to me,    —   And true to Him I’ll be;  —  Oh, how could I this Friend deny,    —    When He’s so true to me?    —    Following Him I know I’m right,    —    He watches o’er me day and night;    —    Following Him by day and night,  —  He’s my Friend.

Jesus is all the world to me,  —  I want no better Friend;  —  I trust Him now, I’ll trust Him when    —    Life’s fleeting days shall end.    —    Beautiful life with such a Friend,    —    Beautiful life that has no end;    —    Eternal life, eternal joy,    —    He’s my Friend.

When I Survey The Wondrous Cross

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

The Lord Jesus Christ will give us victory over the flesh when we surrender our all to Him.

I glory in the cross because (as another song says) “When He Was On The Cross, I Was On His Mind”.

Thank you, Jesus, for sacrificing yourself for my sins on that cruel cross.

When I Survey The Wondrous Cross

________________________________________________

When I survey the wondrous cross    —    On which the Prince of glory died,    —    My richest gain I count but loss,  —  And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,    —    Save in the death of Christ my God!    —    All the vain things that charm me most,    —    I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,    —    Sorrow and love flow mingled down!    —    Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,    —    Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine,    —    That were a present far too small;    —    Love so amazing, so divine,    —    Demands my soul, my life, my all.

Isaac Watts 1707
