Though Nathanael was skeptical of his friend's message, he went with him to check it out.
John 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael and saith unto him, We have found him of whom Moses in the law and the prophets did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
46. And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?
Nathanael had issues with people from Nazareth, but he hadn't yet met Jesus.
Jesus greeted him. "Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!"
"How did you know me?"
"Before Philip called you, when you was under the fig tree, I saw you."
"Rabi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel."
"You believe in me because I saw you under the fig tree? You haven't seen anything yet."
Nathanael will see the dumb speak, the blind see, the crippled walk, and other miracles. He will see the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
If you have never been saved, Christ will meet you where you are. He will lift you out of sin and give you blessings that can't be described. He already knows who you are.
Trust Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.
In the parables of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son (Luke 15) something valuable was lost, then found, and there was great rejoicing.
The prodigal son represents every single one of us. Even though we left home, we never left the Father's heart. Though we may have forgotten about God, He never forgot about us.
God loves us so much that He is willing to allow a crisis to bring us to our senses. In the case of the prodigal it was a famine and financial crisis.
Luke 15:20 And he arose and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.
Because the father represents God, His search for the one son teaches us that God loves us all and everyone is important to Him. No price, no effort, and no sacrifice is too great to rescue even one lost child.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
Paul McCartney wrote All the lonely people, where do they all come from? All the lonely people, where do they belong? (From the song Eleanor Rigby)
Jesus had every reason to be lonely. John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
While hanging on the cross, Jesus was forsaken by His friends and His Father in heaven. He died alone.
Matthew 26:56 Then all the disciples forsook him and fled.
We all feel lonely from time to time, but there are people whose every day life is consumed with loneliness. There are many causes: Feelings of rejection, insecurity (low self-esteem), sorrow, tragedy, loss or separation from family or friends.
You may be lonely, but you are never alone if you know Jesus. Confess to God that you are lonely, and ask Him to fill that void with Himself. Read about His promises and faithfulness in the Bible. Learn to be content. Serve others.
What a delight it is to meet Christ in the Old Testament Law, the types, the Psalms, and the writings of the prophets. In times of trial, you can turn to the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, and find all that you need for encouragement and enlightment.
Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
The colorful history of Moses, Saul, David, Solomon, the kings, and the prophets reveal the abundant mercy, love, power, and judgement of God.
This same God is my God. Wow!

Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
The angels rejoice when a sinner gets saved because they see what they are saved from and what they are saved to.
They know that hell is a horrible place, forever burning with stench and misery. Being with the evil one is not the worst part, it's the absence of God, His love and light.
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
And the angels know the sights of heaven. God created heaven for His children, using gold like we use sheet rock and concrete. Heaven will be the most beautiful place you have ever seen.
If you have not trusted Christ as your personal Saviour, your decision is already made. You are going to hell. Turn loose of running your life your way and accept Christ. It's a decision of the heart that affects your eternity.
