I have no idea why Jesus chose to spit in the blind man's eye.

...Then He put his hand on him and asked if he could see. The man said he saw men as trees walking. Perhaps the disciples wondered why he hadn't been healed instantly like the others?

Mark 8:24-25  After that he put his hands again upon his eyes and made him look up, and he was restored and saw every man clearly.

Maybe Peter remembered Christ saying, 'Having eyes they see not'. Maybe Jesus is using this as a parable, little by little, miracle by miracle, the eyes of the disciples being opened. They had seen everything Christ had been doing, and every day their vision got better.

As we study the Bible, our vision should improve. We should be able to see how God brought us through our good and bad times.  We need a touch of God on our lives so we don't lose sight of Him. We need time alone with our Lord to see clearly what God wants us to do.

Jesus had compassion for the multitude, but

...he wasn't impressed with all of them. He knew they originally followed Him because of His miracles. Many just wanted to be fed. But there was a possibility they might be saved.

Jesus said food for the body is necessary, but not as essential as food for the inner man --the spirit.

Jewish Rabbis taught that when the Messiah came He would duplicate the miracle of the manna. Faith based on signs alone can lead a person astray. Even Satan is able to perform wonders.

It was God, not Moses, who gave the manna. Jesus came down from heaven as the true living Bread of Life. He came not only for Israeal but for the whole world. He came not just to sustain life, but to give life.

John 6:35  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

To come to Christ and believe on Him means to receive Him within, just as you receive food and drink.

Never be ashamed to witness for Christ.

Illegals come across the border seeking a better life. They really need a Savior. A preacher living in the Rio Grand preached at my church Sunday evening.

"I have a prison ministry," he said, "and it breaks my heart that until these guys got to that prison, they had never heard the Word of God."

Joel 2:27 And ye shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am the Lord your God, and none else; and my people shall never be ashamed.

God's people are a peculiar people. He wants us to stand out from the crowd -- stand up for Christ. You can't pick and chose the people you witness to. You have to talk to whoever He puts in your path. God wants you to talk to them about the Lord.

Never be ashamed to witness. God will give you the opportunity, He will encourage you, and you will be satisfied.

Who is using you?

"Who do you say I am?" Jesus asked his disciples. Peter answered. "You're the Christ, the Son of the living God."  Jesus said the Spirit of God revealed it to him.

When Jesus mentions his death, burial, and resurrection, Peter's response is different. "Be it far from you, Lord; this shall not be unto you."

"Get thee behind me, Satan," Jesus said.

What changed? Peter is still saved, but Satan used him. Satan also used him when he cut off the soldier's ear during Christ's arrest. And he used him when Peter denied Christ three times. The Book of Acts tells us that God used him in a mighty way after this.

Who is using you? If you act ugly, hateful, and sinful, it's Satan. If you are led by the Spirit, God is using you.

Romans 6:22  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

They will know you by your fruits. Who is using you?

Old Woman Pregnant; you see,

...God promised to give this one-hundred-year-old man and ninety-year-old woman a baby boy, and He knew how to kindle the spark to perform it. The Bible doesn't mention Abraham and Sarah's intimacy at this point, but you hear it in their laughter. Sarah denied laughing, but the Lord said, "Nay, but thou didst laugh."

Genesis 17:16  And I will bless her and give thee a son also of her; yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.

"Is there anything too hard for the Lord? Sarah will have a son," God said.

When it didn't happen right away, they lost faith. Sarah wanted Abraham to have a child with her bond womsn. That mistake created the Muslims. But Isaac, the chosen one, was born at the appointed time. Friends and relatives mused and chuckled.

God is faithful.

What is Life?

We have only a short time to tell our life-story. We need to be busy in the right place, right thing, for the right person and the right purpose. Life is like a maze of earthly pathways with a multitude of decisions. The responsibility of living can be bewildering.

Romans 14:7  For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

Life is brief. The earthly scene isn't intended to be man's eternal abode. Our mind and body are constantly wearing out. We should face life as a great privilege, challenge and trust, and take advantage of the opportunities afforded us. The only satisfactory way to meet life and enjoy it to its fullest is to let Christ become the center of it.

James 4:14  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away.
