More Than Conquerors

It’s not always easy to live for Jesus. His Gospel will never be acceptable to the world.

In our own strength we can’t defeat our enemies. The good new is that our enemies are nowhere near as powerful as our God. 1 John 4:4b, “…because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”

So, even in the midst of our battles, there is always hope for victory.

Rom. 8:31, “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”

Rom. 8:37, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

God’s will is that we surrender our will and follow Him to victory.

Something Beautiful

Every now and then it will dawn on you what Jesus has done and that will get the best of you.

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

The Word can’t get in you until you first get in it.  When it gets in you, it will control you.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

I would like to admonish some fine folks with a spiritual song written by Bill Gaither. This could easily be my testimony.

“Something beautiful, something good..
All my confusion He understood.
All I had to offer Him was brokenness and strife.
But he made something beautiful of my life.”

Effective Prayer Lives

If we would have effective prayer lives, we need to get serious about prayer and make it our priority.

James 4:6,8  But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. . . . . .Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Humble yourselves when you come before God, knowing you are speaking to the Almighty  Creator of the Universe and He loves you more than anyone.

Thank Him for His blessings.

Maybe you want to pray for your lost family.

Maybe you want to pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ who are struggling.

Maybe you are out of God’s will and need to get right with Him.

Maybe you are not saved and would like to be.

There’s something about those prayers that really mean business. God knows our hearts and our motives.

Bring them to the Lord with faith.

Facing Your Giant

God had promised Israel the land on the other side of Jordan, but twice they let the giants scare them away. Thirty-eight years later the giants were still there and they had to be faced.

David knew God was greater than any giant. He also knew that God had a plan for his life and that plan did not include him dying at the hand of Goliath.

So, when David went out to fight, he only took those things that had worked for him in the past — his staff, his sling, five smooth stones, and Sovereign God, vs. 40

1 Samuel 17:37  David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.

It’s part of God’s plan for you to face your giant or that giant would not be there.  It may be God’s plan for you to defeat your giant.

It may also be God’s plan that you live with your giant.  Are you willing to accept His plan regardless of what it is?

Bring that giant to the feet of Jesus; examine your motives for wanting it defeated. Embrace God’s method for defeating that giant; and go face it in faith.  He will give the victory.

What Does God Think Of You?

You may feel that God doesn’t think about you, but He does.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Remember the words of that old suffering saint Job.

Job 23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.

Everything God allows in your life and mine is an effort to mold us into His image,

Eph. 4:13, Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

What does God think about you? When He thinks about you He does so with love. When He thinks about you He thinks of the great plans He has for your life.

No matter where you are in this world — No matter what you are facing or what you are going through — there is help and hope in the Lord Jesus.
