Holy Ground

Exodus 3:4-5   And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

There was nothing special about the bush in and of itself or the backside of the desert. What made it special was God’s presence and that made the place holy ground.

Every once in a while we are privileged to have the Lord’s presence manifested in our midst.
These times should not be taken lightly. He visits because He has a plan and a purpose for your life.

Encountering God will change us. We can’t enter His presence and leave the same as we came. We will either recognize Him and be changed for the better or we will shun Him and leave His presence colder and more distant.

If God reveals Himself to you, you are standing on holy ground, How do you respond?

I pray that we will recognize His glory and humble ourselves before Him. He is holy and He is worthy of our praise and submission.

Submitting To The Cross

Mark 14:33-34 And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

At the Garden of Gethsemene Jesus prayed, willingly submitting Himself to the sufferings of the cross. In His deepest agony His love and devotion never wavered to the will of His Father----to provide the means for our salvation.

Jesus knew He had to bear this crucifixion cup alone

Mark 14:37-38 And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

Jesus often went there to pray. Maybe these three disciples didn't understand the depth of what was about to happen. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the “big things” that we fail to do the simple things that are  important.

“Lord, help us to do what you ask us to do --- pray, study, witness, love, and serve.”

What Is Truth?

John 18:37-38  Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all .

What is truth? The Bible is truth. Jesus Christ is truth.

The Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God, 2 Tim. 3:16. The Word of God is the final authority and standard of living for all of life---not the opinions of men, not the musings of great philosophers, and not the teachings of great religious leaders.

The Bible teaches us about God, the creation of man, sin, salvation, good, evil, the family, etc.  If there is no truth then everybody is right and nobody is wrong.

Jesus tells Pilate that He came to the world to bear witness of the truth.  Jesus is still the only way to God---the only way to heaven, but you must believe on Him. The Gospel of Jesus is the “”Good News”.

A People Of Faith

Do you want to please the Lord? Do you want a life that honors Jesus? One of the greatest ways you can do that is to live a life of faith.

Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

That’s kind of tough isn’t it? We can’t please the Lord without faith, but we are promised that He will reward us if we come to Him in faith.

Sometimes our faith is weak and other times it’s strong. Whatever the case, Jesus is the same. His power is not diminished due to a lack of faith, but it may well be hindered. We likely miss many blessings due to a lack of genuine faith.

Believers need to become a people of faith as we pray, believing that God will hear and answer our prayers as He promised.

But God

Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

But God!” I was lost in sin, “But God!” I was trapped in darkness, “But God!” I was separated from God and headed to Hell, “But God!” I was under the control of Satan, a prisoner to my passions and lusts, “But God”.

The moment I believed on the Lord Jesus Christ He hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Jesus gave His life for us, paying the sin debt we owed to God. By His precious blood He forgave all our sins.

He knew we didn’t deserve it, that we would fail Him continually, and could never repay Him. Why did He suffer on the cross for my sins? He did it because He loves me. He did it for sinners who believe on Him.

Maybe you have never believed on Jesus. You can know Him. Confess your sins. Ask Him to come into your heart and save you. Believe with all your heart.

Pray Without Ceasing

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Believers ought to always be in an attitude of prayer and communion with the Lord. Praying without ceasing enriched my prayer life the past couple months as my husband’s health became an issue.

“Lord, give him strength for the day. Lord, give me strength to do what I have to do and wisdom to cook the right foods. Lord, don’t let any cars be at the barber shop, because he can’t wait very long. Lord, keep us safe on the road. Lord, thank you for taking good care of us and for giving us loving and generous children and  church folks who care.” Prayers like this go on and on.

I praise God for  quickly answered prayers, and I’m always amazed. Good days or bad days, I feel the presence of Almighty God. When Jesus said, I’ll never leave you or forsake you, He meant it. It’s as if He’s anxiously waiting for the next prayer so He can answer it.

God is good.

God Is Thinking About You

Jeremiah 29:11,13 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. .  .  .  .   And ye shall seek me, and find me , when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

I’m glad God thinks about me and that He knows what’s in store. We aren’t here by mere chance but by His providential hand.

Though The Lord allows unexpected storms to come the way of  believers, I can assure you that the end will be better than we can imagine --- one with peace.

Are there circumstances in your life that you can’t handle? Remember, life doesn’t just happen. God is in control. He wants you to  seek Him. He wants you to serve him. He’s thinking about you.
