He Lives Within My Heart

On that first Easter morning, as dawn was breaking on a world that was forever changed, a special angel delivered a special message, a message that is still vital today.

Mark 16:6  And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

Jesus is still alive and is active on our behalf.  He is our Intercessor; Heb. 7:25; Rom. 8:34

He is always watching over us; Heb. 4:13. He feels our pain; Heb. 4:15. He is more concerned about our affairs than we are.

He is preparing a place for Us; John 14:1-3, waiting for the Father to send Him after His Children; Heb. 10:1.

“You ask me how I know He lives; He lives within my heart!”

Jesus Saves

The death of Jesus on the cross of Calvary was the ultimate expression of God’s love for the lost.

Romans 5:8-9 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Jesus Christ died in physical and spiritual agony to save His people from their sins. He did it not because we deserved it, but because He loved us and we couldn’t save ourselves.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

What love!

Christ Conquered Death

Just as the righteous life of Jesus proved His heavenly origin, so does the power of His resurrection from the dead.

The Apostle Paul wanted to grow in his experience and in the power of the Lord Jesus.

Philippians 3:10-11 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

As we go through the experiences of life, we have the opportunity to learn more about Jesus. As we experience His grace, His presence, His power, His glory and His blessings, we will develop a desire to know Him even better.

All others who have lived and died are gone from this earth forever, but not Jesus.  He died and conquered death so that those who follow Him might enjoy eternal life.

But Now Is Christ Risen

One day a little girl told of her faith as a Christian.

A smart alec nearby responded by saying, "Which Christ? Aren’t there many?"

Her answer was a classic. She said, "Sir, there are many pretenders, but I worship the One which rose from the dead!"
The resurrection says that what we believe has power and gives hope and peace.

1 Corinthians 15:17,20 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. . . . . But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

Jesus is our guarantee. Because He lives, we shall live also. 1 Thes. 4:16-17. Because He lives, there shall also be a reunion some day – 1 Thes. 4:13.

He Is Risen

While the disciples were cowering in the Upper Room out of fear for their lives, something miraculous happened in their presence.

Jesus, the One Who had died just three days before, was standing in their midst. They were terrified and thought they saw a ghost.

Luke 24:38-39 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

To prove He was real, Jesus showed them the nail holes in His hands and in His feet. He offered to let them touch Him, and then He sat down with them to eat.

Most of the disciples hadn't believed until this moment, now they are convinced, Jesus is alive.

Praise the Lord. He is risen. He is risen indeed.

He Lives

Only a risen Savior can do what Christ can do in the lives of His people.

There is a song we sing this time of year — a song we should sing all year long. One verse best tells how Jesus lives in our lives and in our hearts:

“I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today. —- I know that He is living, Whatever men may say.—- I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer, —- And just the time I need Him, He's always near.

He Lives! He Lives! Christ Jesus lives today! —- He Walks with me, And talks with me, Along life's narrow way. —- He Lives! He Lives! Salvation to impart. —- You ask me how I know He lives, —- He lives within my heart!” — By Alfred H. Ackley

I love this song because it’s true.

The Triumphant Entry

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

It was this very Sunday morning that Jesus fulfilled the ancient prophecy of Zechariah.

Mark 11:2-3 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him . And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.

When that little donkey walked by with Jesus on his back — the Triumphant Entry of the Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem — nobody saw the donkey. All eyes were on the Lord Jesus. That’s how it should be all the time.

The Lord used Him as His vehicle to get glory to His name. That’s what He wants to do with you and me.

Let’s yield to Him and let Him rule us as He sees fit.
