I’d Rather Have Jesus

 Philippians 3:8  Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Knowing Jesus is more valuable than anything else in this life, or in the life to come.

If you have all the world offers even religions and miss Jesus, you have lost everything,

I’d Rather Have Jesus

_______________________________

I’d rather have Jesus than silver or gold;   —    I’d rather be His than have riches untold;   —    I’d rather have Jesus than houses or lands;   —    I’d rather be led by His nail-pierced hand.

CHORUS:

Than to be the king of a vast domain   —    Or be held in sin’s dread sway;   —    I’d rather have Jesus than anything   —    This world affords today.

I’d rather have Jesus than men’s applause;   —    I’d rather be faithful to His dear cause;   —    I’d rather have Jesus than worldwide fame;   —    I’d rather be true to His holy name.

He’s fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;   —    He’s sweeter than honey from out the comb;   —    He’s all that my hungering spirit needs;   —    I’d rather have Jesus and let Him lead.

\\Although American hymnals show Rhea Miller as the author of this song, Swedish sources attribute the original to Prince Oscar Bernadotte. In 1888 he relinquished his royal title and right to succession in order to marry a commoner who had influenced his religious beliefs. Afterward he was active in Christian service.

The Eastern Gate

 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

[14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

There are multitudes that have gone on before us to Heaven. We miss them now, because we can’t see them, hold them, or talk to them.

There is a day coming when we will be together again!

When Jesus comes He will raise their bodies from the dead and take them up into the clouds with Him.

We will see them again. Surely we can rejoice in that truth.

I will meet you in the morning,

Just inside the Eastern Gate;

Then be ready, faithful pilgrim,

Lest with you it be too late.

CHORUS:

I will meet you, I will meet you

Just inside the Eastern Gate over there;

I will meet you, I will meet you,

I will meet you in the morning over there.

If you hasten off to glory,

Linger near the Eastern Gate,

For I’m coming in the morning;

So you’ll not have long to wait.

Keep your lamps all trimmed and burning;

For the Bridegroom watch and wait;

He’ll be with us at the meeting

Just inside the Eastern Gate.

Oh, the joys of that glad meeting

With the saints who for us wait!

What a blessed, happy meeting

Just inside the Eastern Gate!

What A Lovely Name

 Philippians 2:9-11 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

[10] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

[11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

I rejoice that He is my Lord and best friend.

What A Lovely Name

_______________________________

There's a name above all others,

Wonderful to hear, bringing hope and cheer.

It's the lovely name of Jesus,

Evermore the same, what a lovely name.

Chorus:

What a lovely name, the name of Jesus,

Reaching higher far, than the brightest star.

Sweeter than the songs they sing in heaven,

Let the world proclaim, What a lovely name!

Thru His name here's wondrous power,

Power to redeem, making sinners clean.

By His pow'r He cleansed the leper,

Opened blinded eyes, caused the dead to rise.

He'll return in clouds of glory,

Saints of every race, shall behold His face.

With Him enter heaven's city,

Ever to proclaim, what a lovely name.

All the Way My Savior Leads Me

 We don’t know where the path of life will lead us, but God does.

That’s why it’s so important to read and study His Word in humility and prayer.

Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalm 48:14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

All the Way My Savior Leads Me

All the way my Savior leads me,  —   What have I to ask beside?  —   Can I doubt His tender mercy,  —   Who through life has been my Guide?  —   Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,  —   Here by faith in Him to dwell!  —   For I know, whate’er befall me,  —   Jesus doeth all things well;  —   For I know, whate’er befall me,  —   Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me,  —   Cheers each winding path I tread,  —   Gives me grace for every trial,  —   Feeds me with the living Bread.  —   Though my weary steps may falter  —   And my soul athirst may be,  —   Gushing from the Rock before me,  — Lo! A spring of joy I see;  —   Gushing from the Rock before me,  —   Lo! A spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me,  —   Oh, the fullness of His love!  —   Perfect rest to me is promised  —   In my Father’s house above.  —   When my spirit, clothed immortal,  —   Wings its flight to realms of day  —   This my song through endless ages:  —   Jesus led me all the way;  —   This my song through endless ages:  —   Jesus led me all the way.

O That Will Be Glory

 Romans 8:18  For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

It’s easy to become discouraged and want to give up, but the Spirit Life is one of diligence, the opposite of giving up.

In fact, the Spirit of God is able to give us hope during the troubled times of our lives.

Though it isn't always easy, it is never impossible. Will we suffer? Yes! Will we groan while we are here? Yes!

Will there be times when we will fail and feel like quitting? Yes!

In those times, remember that we have the Spirit of God within us and He enables us to remain diligent and committed as we travel toward a better country!

O That Will Be Glory

_______________________________

When all my labors and trials are o’er,    —   And I am safe on that beautiful shore,  — Just to be near the dear Lord I adore,  — Will through the ages be glory for me.

CHORUS:

Oh, that will be glory for me, — Glory for me, glory for me, — When by His grace I shall look on His face,    —   That will be glory, be glory for me.

When, by the gift of His infinite grace,    —   I am accorded in heaven a place,    —   Just to be there and to look on His face,    —   Will through the ages be glory for me.

Friends will be there I have loved long ago;    —   Joy like a river around me will flow;    —   Yet just a smile from my Savior, I know,    —   Will through the ages be glory for me.
