God Is Good

Colossians 1:12-14 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Add to our salvation all the blessings He has given us. Add to that all the prayers He has answered. Add to that the fact that He is ever with us; that He loves us eternally; that He meets our needs; and ten thousand other truths; and we must confess that God is good to His people.

What grace that He would even call us to come to Him for salvation. What amazing grace that He would keep seeking, calling, loving and drawing us until we came to Him. Praise God for grace!

A Bright And Better Future

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

God has some big things awaiting His born again believers. Whether we leave here by means of death or we are caught up to meet Jesus in the clouds (Raptured), we are a people possessing a powerful hope of a bright and better future.

Sometimes the road we walk is hard, our burdens  heavy, and the work we are called to do seems endless and unrewarding. I admonish you --- don’t lose hope.

If all we have to look forward to is the grave, we have every reason to despair in this wicked world. But just as Jesus arose from the grave, so shall we. Therein is our hope. Hope is the catalyst that should cause us to get busy in the Lord’s work.

1 Thessalonians 4:16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

David's Song Of Songs

2 Samuel 22:2-3  And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

This is David’s Song of Songs,  His life had been blessed, spared from his enemies, and graced by Almighty God since the day the Lord called him from following the sheep.

Can you look at God and say “my deliverer” --  “my salvation” --- “my rock” --- “my fortress” with full assurance of faith? I can tag a life-story to each one.

When we think about it, this is a song we should sing. If we are saved by God’s grace, we enjoy the same blessings and benefits that were enjoyed by King David.  We have more than enough reason to praise God today and forever.

If you can’t sing this song and mean it, ask Jesus to come into your heart and be your Savior.  Trust  Him.

Little Faith - Big God

Mark 9:23-24 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.  And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Regardless of the fears or problems you may have, they are little when placed next to the Lord. Too often we allow them to drain the spiritual life right out of us.

“But you don’t know my fears,” you say. “They aren’t little. They’re huge.  They’re gigantic. They’re impossible. They’re anything but little!”

I know, but  we serve a  big God. He’s grand. He’s great. He’s  glorious. After all, He stood in the middle of nothing, took nothing, and created everything. That’s big! He Breathed the  inspired Word through human instruments, preserving it to this very day. That’s big! There are not enough words or notes in the music to reveal all the big things God has done and can do.

God is the Lord of little faith, but He can do nothing with unbelief.

Give your fears and problems to Jesus with a heart that says, “Lord, I believe in You. I know this is a big problem to me, but it’s nothing to You.”

God Is Still Powerful

Matthew 28:18  And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Old time believers like to remember a time when the Word of God and the House of God were held in high regard by all. They remember a time when the fear of God was on the community and even the lost respected the things of God.

In those days the pulpit and pews were filled with the Spirit of God. Souls were saved and  saints shouted the victory.

Today it looks like evil in this world is out of control.  It looks like Satan and his will are having their day.  But let me remind you that we serve a God who is still on the throne. He still has all His power. Souls are still being saved.  In His time He will demonstrate His power and sovereignty over sin, Satan, and the world.

Pain And Praise

Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord , and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Praise may not do away with your pain, but it will bring you into the Lord’s presence,

You may not feel like it, but praise Him anyway. When you feel like crying: cry, weep, empty your heart of the bitterness of sorrow; but call on the Lord and offer up thanksgiving for all He has done for you.

In His time and in His own way, He will lift your burdens.

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

I Know Whom I Have Believed

2 Timothy 1:11-12 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

The Apostle Paul didn’t rest in his strength or wisdom. He wasn’t depending on human ability to provide for his current ministry or eternal destiny.

Paul believed in Christ, the risen-living Lord, and he knew that the Lord was more than able to offer provision and grant eternal life. He was secure in Christ.

Faith is the key to discipleship and our entire Christian experience. We must reach the place where we rest solely in Christ. Apart from Him we have no ability, no message to share, and no hope for the future. But in Him we have strength, wisdom, provision, security and grace.

I know whom I have believed, and I am confident that His Word is sure. He guides me here on earth, and He is preparing a place for my eternity. Hallelujah!
