God Walks The Dark Hills

Psalm 23:4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

How comforting to know The Good Shepherd is with us in the valleys.

David said He uses the staff—a long pole with a crook near the end—to draw the sheep close when they began to wander, and He lifts them out of the crevices where they might fall.

The rod, much shorter than the staff, protects the sheep from any thing that might try to attack the flock.

So born again sheep of the Lord are protected by Him night and day.

God Walks The Dark Hills

God walks the dark hills,  —  The ways, the by ways   —  He walks through the billows  —  Of life's troubled sea.  —  He walks through the cold dark night, — The shadows of midnight.  —  God walks the dark hills    —    Just to guide you and me.

CHORUS:

God walks the dark hills  — To guide my footsteps. —  He walks everywhere    —    By night and by day.    —    He walks in the silence    —    On down the highway.    —    God walks the dark hills    —    To show me the way.

God walks in the storm,  — The rain, and the sunshine.  —  He walks on the billows  —  On through glimmering light.  —  Helps us walk up the mountain so high    —    Cross our rivers, through valleys    —    God walks the dark hills    —    'Cause he loves you and me.

When We All Get To Heaven

1 Thessalonians 4:17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

This world will really be confused when we are caught up.

I especially like the part  “and so shall we ever be with the Lord”.

Life will be better when we get to Heaven—when we bow at the feet of Jesus.

When We All Get To Heaven

Sing the wondrous love of Jesus,    —    Sing His mercy and His grace;    —    In the mansions bright and blessed    —    He’ll prepare for us a place.

CHORUS:

When we all get to heaven,    —    What a day of rejoicing that will be!    —    When we all see Jesus,    —    We’ll sing and shout the victory!

While we walk the pilgrim pathway,    —    Clouds will overspread the sky;    —    But when trav’ling days are over,    —    Not a shadow, not a sigh.

Let us then be true and faithful,    —    Trusting, serving every day;    —    Just one glimpse of Him in glory    —    Will the toils of life repay.

Onward to the prize before us!    —    Soon His beauty we’ll behold;    —    Soon the pearly gates will open;    —    We shall tread the streets of gold.

Standing On The Promises

2 Peter 1:4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

God’s exceeding great and precious promises are as sure as if they were fulfilled.

Oh how sweet to be partakers of His divine nature.

Search out the promises of God and stand firm on them.

Standing On The Promises

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,   —    Through eternal ages let His praises ring,   —    Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,   —    Standing on the promises of God.

CHORUS:

Standing, standing,   —    Standing on the promises of God my Savior;   —    Standing, standing,   —    I’m standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,   —    When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,   —    By the living Word of God I shall prevail,   —    Standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises I now can see   —    Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;   —    Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,   —    Standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,   —    Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,   —    Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,   —    Standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises I cannot fall,   —    List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call,   —    Resting in my Savior as my all in all,   —    Standing on the promises of God.

What A Friend We Have In Jesus

Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

The phrase “be careful for nothing” literally means “Don’t worry about anything!”

Worry will strangle you physically and spiritually.  It will choke the life right out of you.

Keep praying. Be thankful for your many blessings.

You have a Friend Who wants to help you.

What A Friend We Have In Jesus

What a friend we have in Jesus,   —    All our sins and griefs to bear!   —    What a privilege to carry   —    Everything to God in prayer!   —    Oh, what peace we often forfeit,   —    Oh, what needless pain we bear,   —    All because we do not carry   —    Everything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?   —    Is there trouble anywhere?   —    We should never be discouraged   —    Take it to the Lord in prayer.   —    Can we find a friend so faithful,Who will all our sorrows share?   —    Jesus knows our every weakness;   —    Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy-laden,   —    Cumbered with a load of care?   —    Precious Savior, still our refuge   —    Take it to the Lord in prayer.   —    Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?   —    Take it to the Lord in prayer!   —    In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,   —    Thou wilt find a solace there.

Did I Mention?

Psalm 89:1 I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.

No matter what happens, God is faithful and that’s my testimony.

Did I Mention?

______________________________

David sang the praises of the glory of Jehovah.   —   Paul preached that all is loss save knowing Christ.   —   Little John said He is precious by leaning on His bosom,   —   So for a moment may I humbly testify.

Did I mention that I love Him,   —   How I worship and adore him.   —   When I can see no way He makes a way?  —   And did I mention that He's been faithful to every promise He ever made me?   —   I love Him, that's all I want to say.

How many sermons can be preached about this Jesus;  —   How many songs can be sung about God's son?  —   There are not enough words; enough notes in the music   —   To tell the story of all the Savior has done.

I Need Thee Every Hour

Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Jesus understands human experience and has successfully endured the full force of temptation.

That’s why He invites us to run to Him in times of trouble.

I Need Thee Every Hour

I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;   —   No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

CHORUS:

I need Thee, oh, I need Thee; — Every hour I need Thee; — Oh, bless me now, my Savior,   —   I come to Thee.

I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;   —   Temptations lose their pow’r when Thou art nigh.

I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;   —   Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.

I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;   —   And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;   —   Oh, make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.

I Can’t Even Walk Without You

Psalm 23:1-3  The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

[2] He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

[3] He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Life is hard when we try to make the journey alone. We need the Good Shepherd every step of the way.

This may be a new song to some, but it touched my heart and I wanted to share it.

I Can’t Even Walk Without

You Holding My Hand

______________________________

I thought number one would surely be me.   —   I thought I could be  what I wanted to be.   —    I thought I could build on life's sinking sand,   —    But now I can't even walk without you holding my hand.

CHORUS:

O, Lord, I can't even walk without you holding my hand;   —    the mountain’s too high and the valleys too wide.   —    Down on my knees, that's where I learned to stand.   —    O, Lord, I can't even walk without you holding my hand.

I thought I could do a lot on my own. —  I thought I could make it all day long. — I thought of myself as a mighty big man, —  but, Lord, I can't even walk without you holding my hand.

I think I'll make Jesus my all and all, —  and if I'm in trouble on his name I'll call. —  If I didn't trust him I'd be less of a man, — ‘cause I can't even walk without you holding my hand.
