In The Garden

The last night of our Savior’s life on earth, with a heavy heart He prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane not only for His disciples but also for everyone who would ever believe on Him.

John 17:21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

I like to think of Jesus praying for me. The intimacy of Jesus adding our unity as one with Himself and the Father is humbling.

The best time of the day is closing out the world while talking to my Lord.

In The Garden

I come to the garden alone,    —    While the dew is still on the roses,    —    And the voice I hear, falling on my ear,    —    The Son of God discloses.

Chorus:

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,    —    And He tells me I am His own,    —    And the joy we share as we tarry there,    —    None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,    —    Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,    —    And the melody that He gave to me,    —    Within my heart is ringing.

I'd stay in the garden with Him,    —    Tho' the night around me be falling,    —    But He bids me go, thro' the voice of woe, — His voice to me is calling.

Amazing Grace

Ephesians 2:7-9  That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

God will use the unfolding “ages” of eternity to reveal the extent of His grace in our lives.

In this world we have no true concept of what the Lord has done for us.

When we arrive in Heaven, we will.  We will be made able to understand the wonder of God’s love, the price of His grace, and the power of His salvation.

The heavens will ring with the praises of a people who were redeemed from death, deception, depravity and doom.

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,    —    That saved a wretch like me....    —    I once was lost but now am found,  —  was blind, but now, I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear    —    And Grace, my fears relieved.    —    How precious did that Grace appear — The hour I first believed.

Thru many dangers, trials and snares  —  I have already come.    —    T'is grace that brought me safe thus far...    —    And grace will lead me home.

When we've been here ten thousand years...    —    Bright shining as the sun.    —    We've no less days to sing God's praise...    —    Than when we've first begun.

Come And Dine

After Jesus rose from the dead, He appeared many times to many people.

One day He just showed up while His disciples were fishing.

John 21:9  As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.

John 21:11-12 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken.

[12] Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. And none of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.

It’s precious that Jesus reveals Himself in a greater way when we need Him most, though we know He is always with us.

Whatever you need from God, you will find in the hands of the risen Lord Jesus.

Come And Dine

Jesus has a table spread   —    Where the saints of God are fed,   —    He invites His chosen people, “Come and dine”;   —    With His manna He doth feed   —    And supplies our every need:   —    Oh, ’tis sweet to sup with Jesus all the time!

Chorus”

“Come and dine,” the Master calleth, “Come and dine”;   —    You may feast at Jesus’ table all the time;   —    He Who fed the multitude, turned the water into wine,   —    To the hungry calleth now, “Come and dine.”

The disciples came to land,   —    Thus obeying Christ’s command,   —    For the Master called unto them, “Come and dine”;   —    There they found their heart’s desire,   —    Bread and fish upon the fire;   —    Thus He satisfies the hungry every time.

Soon the Lamb will take His bride   —    To be ever at His side,   —    All the host of heaven will assembled be;   —    Oh, ’twill be a glorious sight,   —    All the saints in spotless white;   —    And with Jesus they will feast eternally.

Where Could I Go?

Psalm 121:1-2   I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

If there was ever a reason to rejoice in difficulty, it lies in the fact that our helper is none other than the very One who stood on the edge of nothing and made everything with the Word of His power.

Praise God, the Redeemed of Christ have access to to Him, and in Him we find all the help we need.

In time of trouble, where can we go but to the Lord?

Where Could I Go But Go The Lord?

________________________________

Living below in this old sinful world,   —   Hardly a comfort can afford;   —   Striving alone to face temptation sore,   —   Where could I go but to the Lord?

Chorus:

Where could I go, oh where could I go,   —   Seeking the refuge for my soul?   —   Needing a friend to save me in the end.   —   Where could I go but to the Lord?

Neighbors are kind, I love them everyone,   —   We get along in sweet accord.   —  But when my soul needs manner from above,   —  Where could I go but to the Lord?

Life here is grand with friends I love so dear,   —   Comfort I get from God's own word;   —   Yet when I face the chilling hand of death,   —   Where could I go but to the Lord?

My Savior’s Love

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God’s love is not mere fondness or family love and certainly not love the world knows.

God’s love arises out of God’s grace.

It’s a love that can’t be bought.

It’s a love that is powerful, eternal, redemptive, and undeserved.

It’s a love that has no counterpart in the universe.

We are never more like the Father than when we love like He loves; forgive like He forgives; blesses like He blesses; walk like He walked.

God’s love is precious beyond words!

My Savior’s Love

________________________________

I stand amazed in the presence    —   Of Jesus the Nazarene,    —

And wonder how He could love me,    —   A sinner, condemned, unclean.

Chorus:

How marvelous! How wonderful!    —   And my song shall ever be.     —   How marvelous! How wonderful!    —   Is my Savior’s love for me!

For me it was in the garden    —   He prayed: “Not My will, but Thine.”    —   He had no tears for His own griefs,    —   But sweat drops of blood for mine.

In pity angels beheld Him,    —   And came from the world of light    —   To comfort Him in the sorrows    —   He bore for my soul that night.    —

He took my sins and my sorrows,    —   He made them His very own;    —   He bore the burden to Calv’ry,    —   And suffered and died alone.

When with the ransomed in glory    —   His face I at last shall see,    —   ’Twill be my joy through the ages    —   To sing of His love for me.

I’d Rather Have Jesus

Philippians 3:8-9  Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

[9] And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Paul says that knowing Jesus is worth more than anything he may have given up to come to God.

He is a Friend who reveals His glory on the mountain of victory and in the valley of defeat.

Every valley proves His sweetness, every burden His grace.

Every step is fragrant with His power and presence in the life of the believer.

I’d Rather Have Jesus than anything this world offers today.

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold,    —    I'd rather be His than have riches untold;    —    I'd rather have Jesus than houses or lands,    —    I'd rather be led by His nail-pierced hand.

Chorus:

Than to be the king of a vast domain    —    or be held in sin's dread sway.    —    I'd rather have Jesus than anything    —   This world affords today.

I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause,    —    I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause;    —    I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame,    —    I'd rather be true to His holy name.

He's fairer than lilies of rarest bloom,    —    He's sweeter than honey from out the comb;    —    He's all that my hungering spirit needs,    —    I'd rather have Jesus and let Him lead.

If That Isn’t Love

Regardless of the curve balls life may have delivered to you, you need to know that God loves you.

No one is beyond the scope of His love.

The greatest thought to grip the human mind is this: “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so!”

The second greatest thought is this: There is nothing you can do to make Him stop loving you, Rom. 8:38-39.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Look no farther than the bloody cross of Calvary to see the extent of God’s love for you.

If That Isn’t Love

________________________________

He left the Splendor of Heaven,    —   Knowing His destiny. —  Was the lonely Hill of Golgotha    —   there to lay down His life for me.

Chorus:

If that isn't love,    —   The ocean is dry;    —   There's no stars in the sky,    —   And the sparrow can't fly.    —   If that isn't love,    —   Then Heavens a myth;    —   There's no feeling like this    —   If that isn't love.

Even in death He remembered    —   the thief hanging by His side.    —   He spoke with love and compassion,    —   then He took him to Paradise.
