Make The Rest Of Your Life The Best

Whether you are young or old, six or sixty, healthy and wealthy or puny and poor, you can make the rest of your life the best of your life. Here’s how.

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Beginning today, if you will consciously and consistently seek the Kingdom of God, it will absolutely transform your life. Seek Him for guidance, righteousness and purity.

God wants the first moments of everyday, the first day of every week, and  the first part of every paycheck. He wants to be first. He wants you to seek Him first.

What things will be added unto you? All the things you worry about---health, family, money, etc. God will supply you needs.

Do you want to make the rest of your life the best of your life? Allow Jesus to be your Lord. Put Him first in all things. Live every moment for Him, and He will take care of the rest.

This Year: Your Reasonable Service

God has given you a new year. What will you do with it? This is a good time to examine your spiritual life. Can you be a better Christian than last year? Are you all God wants you to be?

If you feel like you’re on a Merry-go-round, frustrated because you can’t find time for God like you used to---you need a refreshing, a rededication to live for God.

Romans 12:1-2  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Totally sold out, separated, and sacrificed to God the Father is an awe inspiring thing. That’s your reasonable service. It will demonstrate His power like nothing else. Read God’s Word and pray every day to keep in touch with The Lord.

This New Years Day is a good time to  get off the Merry-go-round and put God front and center.

Hope For The New Year

When you consider the death, diseases, natural disasters, evil, and all the other negative things that fill our world, there’s  not a lot of room for hope in 2016, but believers have hope in the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Titus 2:13  Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

We have hope of the Rapture—being “Caught Up” to meet Jesus in the clouds.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Jesus is coming the first time for believers--- those who have been saved by the grace of God. Everyone else will be left behind to face the horrors of the Tribulation Period. His second coming is for the Great White Throne Judgement and to set up His Kingdom on earth.

In 2016 the Redeemed have hope that this will be the year that Jesus comes for His own. This hope is unshakable and profound. It’s eternal and powerful. It gives joy, peace and blessing to our hearts. Thank God for the hope we have in Him!

Happy New Year.

Living For God in 2016

With a new year nearby, we are about to enter the unknown. We don’t know what 2016 will bring or how much following Jesus is going to cost us.

The Apostle Paul gives advice on how to live our lives next year. He spent some time encouraging the Philippian church to be humble and submissive to the Father. The challenge is to all believers.

Philippians 2:12-13 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

We don’t work out our own salvation to be saved (Eph. 2;8-9).  Salvation is by grace---not by works. These people were already saved. Paul is challenging us to allow the Holy Spirit to make our Christian life all it can be for God.

God moves in our lives and brings us into His work. He reveals His will to us, coaxes us  and empowers us to do it.

Why in fear and trembling? Because God’s business is serious business.

Praise The Lord

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Believers are far wealthier in Jesus than we can grasp. Jesus has given us an incredible treasury of spiritual riches that’s ours to draw from as we pass through this world.

We like to say that God is good when things are going our way. Even when we think things are bad, God has a way of turning them out for our good, Rom. 8:28. God is worthy of praise all the time.

Most of the things we do in our faith, we do because we have been commanded to do them. We attend worship, we tithe, we witness, we pray---all as acts of obedience. When we praise the Lord for His goodness and blessings and grace in our lives, we are giving Him an offering of love.

Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

The Promise Of His Presence

After celebrating the birth of Jesus, we must not leave Him in the manger. His death, burial and resurrection gives hope to believers to face another year. God has given us the promise of His presence to help us continue the journey. His presence has the power to drive away fear.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

God's presence Is personal. Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

If God is our Redeemer, we need not fear or fret the unknown future. Obey His Word and know that He is always with us.

Luke 1:37  For with God nothing shall be impossible.

Genuine Spiritual Values

Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Things above are the things of God, things that bring glory to Him. To be more specific read the scriptures below from Colossians.

A deeper knowledge of Jesus, 3:10 ------ A clean, holy life, 3:5-9  ------- Godly virtues, 3:12-17 -------Holiness in our domestic life, 3:18-21 --------Holiness in our social life, 3:22-4:1 ------- An effective prayer life – 4:2 ------- A fruitful witness – 4:3-6.

Live out the fruit of the Spirit day by day,

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

We are challenged to live our lives with genuine spiritual values and not the values of a fallen world. As we give our attention to things above, we are enabled to live a heavenly, holy, God-honoring life in this world.
