The God on The Mountain

Psalm 23:4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

I’ve experienced some unforgettable mountain top experiences in my lifetime, times alone with Jesus and His sweet Spirit.

I’ve also found the same Lord and sweet Spirit comforting me in the valleys of my life.

The God on The Mountain

Life is easy, when you’re up on the mountain,   —    And you’ve got peace of mind, like you’ve never known.   —    But things change, when you're down in the valley.    —    Don't lose faith, for you’re never alone.

CHORUS:

For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley. —  When things go wrong, He’ll make them right,   —    And the God of the good times is still God in the bad times.   —    The God of the day is still God in the night.

We talk of faith way up on the mountain.   —    But talk comes easy when life's at its best.    —    Now its down in the valleys with trials and temptations.    —    Thats where your faith is really put to the test. - - -

Whispering Hope

Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

[2] By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

As born again believers, we have a blessed hope.

Romans 8:28 tells us that all things are going to work together for good as we trust the Lord for our needs.

We know that nothing is going to separate us from the love of God, Rom. 8:39.

We know that Jesus is coming one day to take us to Heaven and we will forever live with Him, 1 Thes. 4:16,17.

We have many reasons to rejoice in hope.

Whispering Hope

____________________________

Soft as the voice of an angel, — Breathing a lesson unheard, —   Hope with a gentle persuasion    —    Whispers her comforting word:    —    Wait till the darkness is over,    —    Wait till the tempest is done, —  Hope for the sunshine tomorrow, — After the shower is gone.

CHORUS:

Whispering hope, oh, how welcome thy voice,    —    Making my heart in its sorrow rejoice.

If, in the dusk of the twilight, — Dim be the region afar, — Will not the deepening darkness Brighten the glimmering star? —  Then when the night is upon us,    —    Why should the heart sink away?    —    When the dark midnight is over,    —    Watch for the breaking of day.

Hope, as an anchor so steadfast,    —    Rends the dark veil for the soul, —  Whither the Master has entered,    —    Robbing the grave of its goal; — Come then, oh, come, glad fruition, — Come to my sad, weary heart;   —   Come, O Thou blest hope of glory,    —    Never, oh, never depart.

At Calvary

Luke 23:33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.

Jesus died on the cross at Calvary so that we might be able to look to Him by faith and be eternally saved by His grace, Isa. 45:22.

At Calvary

_____________________

Years I spent in vanity and pride,   —    Caring not my Lord was crucified,   —    Knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary.

CHORUS:

Mercy there was great, and grace was free;   —    Pardon there was multiplied to me;   —    There my burdened soul found liberty at Calvary.

By God’s Word at last my sin I learned;   —    Then I trembled at the law I’d spurned,   —    Till my guilty soul imploring turned to Calvary.

Now I’ve giv’n to Jesus everything,   —    Now I gladly own Him as my King,   —    Now my raptured soul can only sing of Calvary!

Oh, the love that drew salvation’s plan!   —    Oh, the grace that brought it down to man!   —    Oh, the mighty gulf that God did span at Calvary!

The Lily of The Valley

Song of Songs 2:1  I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.

Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Jesus, the One of truth, honesty, purity, love, and our burden bearer are but a few descriptions of our Lord.

No wonder we call Him The Lily of The Valley.

The Lily of The Valley

I’ve found a friend in Jesus, He’s everything to me,   —    He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul;  —  The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see  —  All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole. — In sorrow He’s my comfort, in trouble He’s my stay; —  He tells me every care on Him to roll.

CHORUS:

He’s the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star, —  He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne;    —    In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tow’r;    —    I’ve all for Him forsaken, and all my idols torn    —    From my heart and now He keeps me by His pow’r.    —    Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore,    —    Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal. - - -

He’ll never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here,  —  While I live by faith and do His blessed will;    —    A wall of fire about me, I’ve nothing now to fear,    —    From His manna He my hungry soul shall fill.    —    Then sweeping up to glory to see His blessed face,    —    Where rivers of delight shall ever roll. - - -
