The Eye Of The Lord

Psalm 33:18 Behold, the eye of the Lord is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

The Lord sees everything that happens to you. He sees the problems, the fears, the valleys and the sorrows. Nothing escapes His gaze.

While a lost world lives in fear, the people of God can rest in the arms of divine sovereignty, knowing that their God will take care of them. His eye is on your life and He knows more about your needs than you do.

He is worthy to be praised.  As our trust in Him deepens, our ability to rest in Him grows. And when we are resting in Him we can rejoice in spite of everything that’s going on around us.

How Much Do You Love God?

Deuteronomy 6:5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Do you love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and might? Is it possible to love Him a little bit or conveniently? Here’s what Jesus says about love.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Obeying God's commandments proves that you love the Lord. You will have a joy only Jesus can give and live a victorious life. But sometimes believers allow that love to grow cold. Things of God begin to take second place with whatever is pushing Him aside. It happens to all of us at some time or other.

The Lord in his love and grace is waiting for you to talk to Him. Ask Him to help you. Rededicate your life to Him. Joy thrives on renewed fellowship.

People need to see the radiance of our love for the Lord because it may be the only time they see God in action. Our children need to see it because they imitate us.

Jesus And Your Battle

As Joshua studies the upcoming battle at  Jericho, he sees an unidentified man standing nearby with his sward drawn. Joshua asks if  he’s fighting for or against them.

Joshua 5:14-15 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? And the captain of the Lord's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

Jesus identifies Himself as “the captain of the host of the Lord.” Joshua can’t see it, but there is a vast army of heavenly warriors camped about him, ready to take this battle to victory. This is one of several instances where Jesus makes an appearance in the Old Testament.

The same power that came to the aid of Israel is still the Captain of the Lord’s host. He still fights battles on behalf of  those who abide and trust in Him. He’s a sovereign God in control of all things, of all people, at all times.

God's Workmanship

1 Peter 2:21-23 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:  Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

It isn’t easy to follow in the steps of Jesus. When someone spouts off at us we want to spout back. When we are mistreated or slandered we naturally get angry. Christ is kind, gentle and gracious to these kind of people. How can we be like Christ?

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

It's God's plan that we do good works. I like this song: He’s still working on me, to make me what I ought to be. And this song, Trust And Obey, gives great instructions for spiritual victory.

If not for the grace of God and surrendering to His will, we would never know the joy of walking  with Jesus---in His steps. "Lord, make me what You want me to be for your glory."
