At first I kept falling asleep at the gospel singing tonight. Two reasons: 1) the first group, nine local men, sang oh-hum for forty-five minutes. 2) I got up at 6:15 a.m. and didn’t get my afternoon recliner snooze because I was playing with James. No complaints.

HisSong, three young guys, really got my attention. They were great but my eyes were still droopy. I slipped to the concession stand and bought a cup of coffee. Problem solved.

The Mike Lefevre Quartet was smooth with a great tenor. He used to sing with the Kingsmen. A scrawny looking kid sang deep bass. The baritone singer was Eva Mae Lefevre’s nephew. His son sang lead.

The Talleys really touched my heart. Their new son-in-law sang with them. I love the song their daughter, Lauren, sings about the broken ones. I bought their special CD package.

I always leave uplifted. God is good.
