Forgiveness
Sometimes people hurt our feelings and we don’t want to forgive them. In fact, we want to see them punished. You may say, “But you don’t know what they did.” Too often we can’t see beyond a transgression. We feel justified not to forgive.
Matthew 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
God can show you how to be a forgiving person if you’ll let him. Pray that He will.
“How many times should we forgive someone, seven?” Peter asked Jesus. “No,” He answered, “Seventy times seven.” Spiritual translation: Every time and don’t count.
The prodigal son didn’t deserve forgiveness and didn’t expect it, but his father lovingly forgave him. Is there someone in your life who has wronged you? You need to forgive them. Don’t say you can’t. If you have the love of Jesus in your heart, it’s possible.
As we get closer to God, we are never more like Christ than when we forgive.
