As Christians, we must live a day at a time.
. . . No person, no matter how wealthy or gifted, can live two days at a time. God provides for us "day by day" as we pray to Him. We must not make the mistake of trying to "store up grace that we need when we need it.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
When we learn to live a day at a time, confident of God's care, it takes a great deal of pressure off of our lives.
Yard by yard, life is hard! Inch by inch, life's a cinch!
Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowments,
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
Gives unto each day what He deems best,
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.
