HOW MUCH OF GOD DO YOU WANT?
With sarcasm, Wilbur Reese writes: " I would like to buy $3 worth of God, please. Not enough to explode my soul or disturb my sleep, but just enough to equal a cup of warm milk or a snooze in the sunshine. I don't want enough of Him to make me love a black man or pick beets with a migrant. I want ecstasy, not transformation. I want the warmth of the womb, not a new birth. I want about a pound of the eternal in a paper sack. . ."
Luke 14:33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
How much of God do you want -- enough to follow in Christ's steps?
OR ENOUGH TO:
- Stop using your money, resources and time selfishly and start using them to help others and to build the Kingdom of God?
- Develop a hunger for the Word and let all other priorities fall behind you?
- Become passionate about prayer?
- Give yourself as a humble servant to others?
- Learn to forgive those who hurt you, forgo bitterness, give up resentment, and if possible, make peace with your enemies?
- Develop the passionate love of Christ for the most unlovely?
