Those Dreaded Detours

The highway of life isn't always straight and smooth. Detours may suddenly appear without warning. We have a promise from scripture to carry us through detours of trouble, disappointment or sorrow.

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

God is going to work out everything for our good; not for our pleasure or prosperity or popularity, but for our good. Believe it.

Tears come easily on the detour, but Jesus gives us hope we can rely on.

John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
