A Mustard Seed Faith

Luke 17:6  And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.

Many folks talk about great faith. There's nothing wrong in having great faith, but Jesus says it isn’t the size of our faith that matters, but the substance of our faith. A mustard seed is very small, about the size of a pinhead, and that amount of faith is sufficient.

Every believer possesses a measure of faith, some is much stronger than others. Even the smallest amount of faith in Christ is sufficient if we believe. The major problem for most of us is that we have a small amount of faith in Christ, but trust our judgment and ability more often than we depend upon the Lord.

The substance of our faith is what makes the difference. A small amount of genuine faith in Christ will produce far more than an abundance of faith in anything else.
