When Jesus came to their village, Martha invited Him to be their guest. While she was busy preparing food, her sister Mary sat at the feet of Jesus and worshipped.
Luke 10:40-42 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
When we come to sit at the feet of Jesus we’ll get to the place where we don’t care what others think of us. We’ll only have Him and His glory as the focus of our lives. He’ll fill our thoughts and motives as we lose sight of self. We’ll know peace and God’s power and purpose.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus; look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim---
in the light of His glory and grace.---Helen H. Lemmel
