The disciples are somewhat frightened. What now? They’ve just watched as their Lord and Savior-------the One they left everything behind to follow--- disappears into a cloud of glory. They're oblivious to the two strangers (Angels) who appear on the mountain with them.
Acts 1:10-11 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
While the future unfolds around us with its uncertainties and questions, and while our lives are occupied with serving Jesus, we have the blessed assurance that He’s coming again to claim His people. Nobody but God the Father knows when.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
If you aren’t ready for the return of Jesus---have never accepted Him as your Savior--- I pray the Spirit of God draw you to Him and that you realize you are a sinner and need to be saved by grace. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and forgive your sins. Believe He will do it.
