The Voice Of God

The papers Saul carried on the road to Damascus gave him authority to kill, beat or imprison Christians as he often did in the name of religion. But this time Jesus brought him to his knees.

Acts 9:3-4 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

The voice Saul (Paul) heard on the Damascus Road was the same voice that spoke the world into existence, that spoke to Moses at the burning bush. It’s the same voice that said,  “Lazarus come forth”  and “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” and  “It is finished.”

Jesus saved Saul that day and  changed his name to Paul, using him in a mighty way to establish churches during His three missionary jorneys. While in a Roman prison for preaching the gospel the Lord inspired him to write a large portion of the New Testament.

God’s voice is the same yesterday, today, and forever. When He speaks to us it should shake us to the core. He will use us for His glory when we surrender to Him.
