As we celebrate the birth of the Christ-child, some may ask, “What’s the purpose of the Baby in the manger? Why should I care?” The answer is in the inspired Word of God.
John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Love for a lost, sinful world compelled God the Father to send His beloved Son to earth. That Holy Baby was conceived in the womb of the virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit. That Holy Baby is the long-awaited Messiah, the very Son of God, Salvation and eternal life for all who believe on Him. That Holy Baby was born to die for you and me. Thank you Jesus.
