Ephesians 5:1-2 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour.
How can we -- sinful, human, frail, flawed people -- ever be like Christ or love like Him? Well, certainly not by our own power.
As redeemed children of God, we are empowered to live like, act like, and talk like Jesus, to live holy lives for His glory.
The challenge is to bring our tongues, our anger, our work ethic, our bitterness, and revenge seeking under the control of God - to be forgiving, kind and compassionate toward one another.
With help from the Holy Spirit we learn to do this from God’s Word, from watching Him work in the lives of others, from simply walking with Him.
So, walk with Jesus. Learn from Him. Be like Him.
