I find it hard to adequately explain the closeness, the security, and the peaceful fellowship of walking with the Lord. David expresses it well in his 32nd Psalm.
Psalm 32:7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.
In the chaos of this world, I thank God for His hiding place. He preserves me from trouble. I thank Him for that.
But it’s the songs of deliverance that lift me above the squabbling, brawling, hassling wrangle of a world bent on seizing my sanity. Thank you, Lord for your music.
In shady green pastures so rich and so sweet,
God leads His dear children along. . . . .
Some thro’ the waters, some thro’ the flood,
Some thro’ the fire, but all thro’ the blood.
Some thro’ great sorrow, but God gives a song
In the night season and all the day long.
