The right kind of prayer is always about aligning our will with God’s will. The right kind of faith is believing and accepting the unknown answer to our prayers. I love answered prayer stories.
In the fall of 2003, after retirement, I asked the Lord to move us from Arkansas to Texas so we could grow old close to one of our children. Then I began cleaning out a closet to prepare for the move.
Within a week the Lord sold our house -- not even on the market -- and supplied moving boxes. It was as if Jesus was nudging us on. Everything came together, even buying a house in Texas.
We had one problem – Spencer the Shar-Pei we inherited from our daughter when she left home. Spencer was old and dying. We could take our bull dog (a house dog), but not Spencer.
I prayed with guilt that the Lord would let him die before we moved. The next morning I went to his fenced area and found him dead on the ground. I mourned some then looked up and said, “Thank you, Lord.”
I still get teased about this in Texas and one lady even asked me to pray about a stray cat in her yard. That's OK. I love to tell how God answers prayers.
Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
