The Apostle Paul told us how believers should think.
Colossians 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
A quick look at some of the following verses gives insight into what he is talking about. We are to pursue:
• A deeper knowledge of Jesus, Col. 3:9,10
• A clean, holy life, Col. 3:5-9
• Godly virtues, Col. 3:12-17
• Holiness in our domestic life, Col. 3:18-21
• Holiness in our social life, Col. 3:22-4:1
• An effective prayer life, Col.4:2
• A fruitful witness, Col. 4:3-6
In other words, we are to live like Jesus lived, 1 John 2:6. We are to live out the fruit of the Spirit day by day, Gal. 5:22-23.
