Isn't it astonishing that the One who has all power in Heaven and in earth would endure the cross without saying a word.
Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Jesus could have spoken the word and the very iron in the nails would have crawled back into the earth.
He could have disbursed the molecule of His executioners with a single thought. But His love for sinners was so great that He refused.
Instead, He willingly took our sins upon Himself and died in our place. And, when He did speak, it was to forgive and not condemn.
Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
What a Savior!
