I AM Has Sent Me

Moses’ first concern is that he is a nobody and don’t speak well, so he is unqualified to go to Pharaoh and demand the release of the Lord’s people. But God promises to go with him. Now, he has a question.

Exodus 3:13-14  “And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?

[14] And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

In essence God is saying, "Just do as I say, and I will show you who I AM as you need me."

This is how the Lord works in our lives. He leads us out to follow Him by faith, and we know very little about Him or His ways. But as needs arise, God proves Himself adequate and faithful to every challenge.

His great Name, I AM, becomes an open ended statement of fact. In those two words God tells us that He is what we need Him to be at every moment of our lives.
