Till The Storm Passes By

The very thing the disciples feared —  the raging sea —  was the very thing God used to come to them.

Matthew 14:24,26-27 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

[26] And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

[27] But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

The disciples didn’t recognize Jesus. They thought He was a ghost. They cried out in fear.
But, thank God, Jesus came with a message of peace and of power, telling them that the storm was fierce, but He is greater than the storm.

When Jesus comes walking on our storm — He gives us the same message of hope.

“In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face — While the storm howls above me, and there's no hiding place — 'Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry — Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

“Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more — Till the clouds roll forever from the sky. — Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand — Keep me safe till the storm passes by.”   By Mosie Lister
