While God continued to show Himself strong on behalf of His people, Israel continually lacked the faith to trust the Lord as they should.
But the Bible tells us that "many a time" He turned His anger away from them, patiently leading them in love and grace.
Psalm 78:38 But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
We have a patient, loving Lord. He has demonstrated His power, His grace, His love, and His character many times in our lives.
