What are you looking for this New Year? A raise? A new this or that? A better life for your family?
Or are you looking for those things that will only be found in Jesus? That’s what David wanted.
Psalm 27:4-5 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
[5] For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
This is a promise to those who will abide in that close place through daily prayer, Bible study, surrendering to the Lord’s will, and maybe confess any sin in our lives.
No enemy can enter this private place.
It’s a place to exchange our trouble for His peace, 1 Pet. 5:7; Phil. 4:6-7.
It’s a place to find joy even during the most troublesome times, 1 Pet. 1:8.
It’s a place of assurance that God will guard us and guide us through 2020 with confidence and victory.
“Rock of Ages, cleft for me. — Let me hide myself in thee; — Let the water and the blood — From thy wounded side which flowed.— Be of sin the double cure; — Save from wrath and make me pure.”
