When I Survey The Wondrous Cross

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

When a person places his/her faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, that person is forever changed.

The chains of sin are broken, Rom. 6:14, and they are made into a new creature, 2 Cor. 5:17.

No blood washed, blood bought individual will ever experience the flames and fires of Hell. John 5:24.

When the blood is applied, the child of God instantly becomes destined for an eternity in Heaven with the Lord.  John 14:1-3.

When I Survey The Wondrous Cross

________________________________

When I survey the wondrous cross    —    On which the Prince of glory died,    —    My richest gain I count but loss,    —    And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,    —    Save in the death of Christ my God!    —    All the vain things that charm me most,    —    I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,    —    Sorrow and love flow mingled down!    —    Did e’er such love and sorrow meet,    —    Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

Were the whole realm of nature mine,    —    That were a present far too small;    —    Love so amazing, so divine,    —    Demands my soul, my life, my all.

Isaac Watts  1707
