1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
When you came to Christ, you came with no works — bringing nothing to receive everything!
You were put on that Rock which is Christ. Now you can build on that. This is where good works come in.
Are you building on Him? That is the important question for the believer.
The Solid Rock

My hope is built on nothing less — Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; — I dare not trust the sweetest frame, — But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
CHORUS:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; — All other ground is sinking sand, — All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness veils His lovely face, — I rest on His unchanging grace; — In every high and stormy gale, — My anchor holds within the veil.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,— Oh, may I then in Him be found; — Dressed in His righteousness alone, — Faultless to stand before the throne.
Edward Mote 1834
