The Gaderene Demoniac was a man who endured terrible spiritual bondage. The demons that possessed his body ruined his life. He was a vicious, violent, dangerous man who lived among the dead in the graveyard. Men had tried to capture him but he escaped. He spent his days and nights crying out and cutting himself.
One day Jesus showed up, saved his soul and delivered him from his demons. We’re told that he was found “sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind” (Mark 5:15). When Jesus was forced to leave that place, this delivered man wanted to go with Him.
That’s how it is when you meet Jesus, and He changes your life. You want to stay with Him. Thank God for love and grace.
There are many who were sinking deep in sin, far from the peaceful shore; very deeply stained with sin, sinking to rise no more. Then there's that moment they meet Jesus. Then the Master of the sea, heard my despairing cry, from the waters lifted me, now safe am I.
Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
