Romans 6:6-7 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him , that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.
When Jesus died on the cross, God took our old, fallen, wicked natures and put them to death. Through the new birth the old man has no control over us.
Will we sin? Yes. We are not perfect. Just as Jesus came forth from the tomb to a new life, the believer is raised from the deadness of sin to walk a new life by the power of His resurrection.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
We are to yield control of our lives to the Lord so that we might be instruments of glory in His hands.
Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
