O Holy Night

Luke 2:10-11,13, 14 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. . . . And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

The calm  of the night of the Shepherds is suddenly shattered by an anthem of praise for the Creator, announcing the birth of the Christ Child. This is good. This is great! This is joy!

Imagine the amazement of the Angels as they watch their sinless, glorious Lord of Heaven become flesh on earth. Born of a virgin, the helpless infant has come to save fallen humanity.

 What grace! What glory! What a choir! What a message!

A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
Oh night divine, Oh night when Christ was born;
Oh night, Oh holy  night, Oh night when
Christ was born.
