At the end of King David’s life he praises the Lord for His grace and blessings and then he encourages his son Solomon to build God a temple.
1 Chronicles 28:20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord .
The end of life doesn’t have to be a sad time. There’s something serene and special about the funeral of dedicated saints of God. There's consolation in their admonition and testimony.
When it’s my time to go I want to finish strong like David. I want to remember God’s blessings, still carrying out my responsibilities, still relying on the Lord and rejoicing in Him.
The Apostle Paul also finished strong. I love what he wrote to Timothy.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
