David is as far away physically from God and His Tempe that he can get. He has been fleeing for His life, from His son Absalom. He cries out to God for help.
Psalm 61:2-3 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.
Have you ever been in an overwhelming situation where you feel helpless and need help from the Lord? Sin can produce that feeling but so can sorrow and suffering.
Thank God there is a Rock— a place of safety—a place of refuge where we can flee in times of trouble, sorrow and suffering.
There is a place where the storms can’t come, the winds can’t blow, and the waves can’t reach us.
There is a Rock and His name is Jesus. He is the only One who can help us, who can deliver us from our situation. Praise the Lord. Seek Him.
