The thought that the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords would come to this world and be placed in a manger is almost beyond my level of comprehension.
Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Think about it. A manger is a feeding trough for farm animals.
Why was the Lord of Glory placed in a manger?
Jesus allowed Himself to be laid in that manger to identify with those in poverty and those struggling; to help people with troubles and meet the needs of our lives.
2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
