Learning To Lean

God is never hurried by our worry. He doesn’t get excited when we struggle against the situation we find ourselves in, but I’ve found Him to be ever so near with comfort and grace to lighten the load.

Psalm 37:7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

We are told to rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.

We are not to fret — to get worked up into a rage over the condition of the world or the valley we face. In today’s world, that’s hard to do.

But, remember that God is in control of it all. We need to pray about it.

We need to learn to lean on Jesus. John Stallings wrote a song about leaning.

“Sad broken hearted, at an alter I knelt, — I found peace that was so serene. — And all that He asks is a child like trust — And a heart that is learning to lean

“Learning to lean, — Learning to lean, — I'm learning to lean on Jesus; — Finding more power than I've ever dreamed, —  I'm learning to lean on Jesus.”
