The Lily Of The Valley

Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Like the sun above, the Lord is ever providing comfort for the journey. He lights our way, He warms our way and gives guidance to us along the way.

He also provides a shield of protection for His people. The Psalmist tells us that we are protected by the Angel of the Lord, Psa. 34:7. He is above us to give us what we need, and He is all around us to protect us as we journey toward Heaven.

We are promised His grace while we travel and His glory when we arrive home. There is help for today and hope for tomorrow.

The Lord delights in providing for the needs of His children, Luke 12:32. He will bless your life. It’s simply a matter of learning to trust Him.

Song of Songs 2:1-2 I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.  . . [2] As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.

Thorns are a mark of the curse.  Lilies are a symbol of divine providence.  The believer is a living Gospel preaching to lost men the grace and goodness of God toward the fallen.

“I have found a friend in Jesus, He's everything to me, — He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul; — The Lily of the Valley, in Him alone I see, — All I need to cleanse and make me fully whole. — “In sorrow He's my comfort, in trouble He's my stay, — He tells me every care on Him to roll; — He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star, — He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

“He all my grief has taken, and all my sorrows borne; — In temptation He’s my strong and mighty tow’r; — I have all for Him forsaken and all my idols torn — From my heart and now He keeps me by His pow’r. — “Though all the world forsake me, and Satan tempt me sore, — Through Jesus I shall safely reach the goal. — He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star, — He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

“He will never, never leave me, nor yet forsake me here, — While I live by faith and do His bless'd will; — A wall of fire about me, I've nothing now to fear, — With His manna He my hungry soul shall fill. — “Then sweeping up to glory I’ll see His bless'd face, — Where the rivers of delight shall ever roll; — He's the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star, — He's the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.”
