Luke 2:13-14 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
[14] Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
The power of God’s glory was the introduction the multitude of angels gave the shepherds before making known the birth of the Christ Child.
Watching their sheep in a usual silent night, it is no wonder they were afraid.
It still amazes me that such an awesome message was given to these unknown guys out in the middle of nowhere..
Hark! The Herald Angels Sing
____________________________
Hark! The herald angels sing, — “Glory to the newborn King; — Peace on earth, and mercy mild, — God and sinners reconciled!” — Joyful, all ye nations rise, — Join the triumph of the skies; — With th’angelic host proclaim, — “Christ is born in Bethlehem!”
CHORUS:
Hark! the herald angels sing, —
“Glory to the newborn King!”
Christ, by highest Heav’n adored; — Christ the everlasting Lord; — Late in time, behold Him come, — Offspring of a virgin’s womb. — Veiled in flesh the Godhead see; — Hail th’incarnate Deity, — Pleased as man with men He dwell, — Jesus our Emmanuel.
Hail the heav’nly Prince of Peace! — Hail the Sun of Righteousness! — Light and life to all He brings, — Ris’n with healing in His wings. — Mild He lays His glory by, — Born that man no more may die; —Born to raise the sons of earth, — Born to give them second birth.
