When Jesus Came

Luke 2:10-11  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

The Jewel of Heaven made His entrance into this world robed in flesh as a man, just as God promised. His virgin birth forever changed humanity. He came to provide salvation for the world.

Mary wrapped Him in swaddling clothes---strips of cloth that were commonly used at death. Just moments after His birth the cross was already in view. We can’t celebrate Christmas without considering Calvary.

The birth of Jesus ought to stir us because He came to Redeem those who believe on Him. He came to give believers eternal life. He came to give them the glorious privilege of knowing Him intimately.

As we ponder His birth, life, death, and Resurrection, it ought to bring us to our feet in praise and adoration.
